I had arrived at the location a couple of hours before sunset. I walked out and found my spot, and started the waiting game. The clouds dominated the skies, and it didn't look like anything good would happen for sunset. A couple of times in the two hours the sky opened just enough to put some light on Capitol Peak, and it made me hope for a show. I nervously noted the time, knowing that sunset was near. With a stroke of luck, the clouds parted shortly before, bathing Capitol Peak in a wonderful sunset light, making the scene complete.
