This image was taken while on a early morning hike at Mount Saint Helens at sunrise in early summer. This time of year can be a wildflower treat with Indian paintbrush and penstemon carpeting the ground. The air was fairly still with very light breezes coming through and the smell of damp cool refreshing outdoors. Aahhh soak it up.
After this scene I took a break and then headed out for another hike to Harry's Point which is rewarding hike with views of Spirit Lake, Mt St Helens and Mt Rainier. If you have not been hiking this time of year at Mt St Helens I would say it's definitely worth the trip. There is no lodging here camping or otherwise so anywhere you come from will be early to rise, drive in and then a short hike if you want to make it for sunrise.
Tech Specs: I photographed this scene with a 3 stop GND something I don't use much these days but use when I have time and feel like it. Additional processing in PS with some luminosity masks, dodging, vibrance/saturation layers. Other details can be found in the exif data section.
