During our yearly photo workshop in Zambia, which I host with my husband Marsel van Oosten (, we stay in a camp that is visited regularly by elephants.

We saw an elephant coming close to the general are (you can see our guests in the background!) and my husband and myself wanted to get a different perspective. So we sprinted to the the rivers edge. The elephant decided to walk in between the lodge and the river - perfect timing! It looked at us for a moment... I was holding my breath, because this giant animal was almost hovering over us. A bit scary, but it gave us a pretty impressive point of view!

Please keep in mind that this was shot with my iPhone - that is more my kind of thing. I leave the professional camera for my husband to handle, as he does that quite well :-)
