Hidden away underground in the Three Sisters wilderness are these beautiful otherworldly ice caves. The melting ice was making for some cool drips. Photographing this ice cave was the most amazing experience on my backpacking trip. The caves are ever-evolving and dangerous since they can collapse.

Photographing the ice cave was very challenging with the transition of light from bright to dark. Of course I was soaking wet and cold since I didn't bring a waterproof jacket. Duh! We also had to deal with lens flares & circular banding flares. This is a blend of 3 exposures - one of the top of the cave, another one for the water in the foreground and lastly one to control flares.

Huge shout out to Marc Adamus for showing us such an amazing place & steering us in creating this!
