In my opinion, landscape photography depends mostly on three components.

First, experienced photographer will gain his sharp, ‘collective skill’ from continuously learning by doing. The more you take photo, the more mistake happens, and the more you will learn from it!

Second, most of renowned landscape photographers share something in common that is they always have ‘persistent effort’. They are patient and always strive for capturing stunning photos.

And, the last component is luck. It is only one component that is uncontrollable and unpredictable. Some trips that we expected for a beautiful weather ends up with terrible, dim day. However, we need to have the faith and calmly wait until the luck is come.

This photo was taken in a very terrible, dim morning at Turimetta beach, Sydney’s northern beach. Raining was forecasted to happen about 60%, but it rained all the morning. However, we were calmly waiting and expecting a beautiful sunshine after the rain. Unfortunately, the sun didn’t come out at all.
