Not having a tripod sometimes can be a blessing in disguise. I knew a tripod was required but didn't take the effort of hauling one all the way to Italy. After reaching Manarola, the only way I could get a Blue hour shot was to get the camera on a flat surface and yet have the right composition. Searched through all the flat surfaces near this viewpoint and ended up with two options, one was to keep the camera on a Trash Can in this public park and the other was to borrow a small plastic table from a house nearby and set it on this huge bush.
Not withstanding the stench from the trash can, I chose to get the plastic table and set it on this huge bush. Waited for the blue hour to set in and started clicking many 30 secs shots and waited for the magic to happen in the camera. And BOYYY it did, the scene looked more magical with the moving water effects in the camera display than it did in real life.
Always in the search of capturing something more than what the naked eye can see.
