Please view on a dark background. The beautiful Kirkjufell is located on the Snæfellsnes peninsula not far from the town of Grundarfjörður in Iceland. It has steep slopes in all directions formed by the ice age glaciers. It has as you can see in the image, several geological layers as all the mountains in the Snæfellsnes area. The mountain is part of the volcanic system Lýsuskarð.
Now, in the foreground you can see parts of iconic Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall. I decided to do a long exposure with my polarizer to create the soft water flow, but not too long cause I really wanted to texture in the water to remain intact.
