I set my camera up on the dock in my backyard to try and catch the Draconid meteor shower, while I had my own shower. The timelapse ran for about an hour (8:15 - 9:15) and I was pleasantly surprised to find out I didn't catch any meteors, but instead I caught the northern lights. Even though I live in Canada, they are fairly rare to see where I live. I'm very close to the US border, just above New York State. (though there are parts of New York state that are further north than where I live, the same goes for parts of Michigan) I did another timelapse out of town, in a place with less light pollution, and I caught some more.
