I first became aware of this part of the world from the drop dead images of Marc Adamus http://www.marcadamus.com/photo.php?id=526&gallery=favorites a few years ago. I and 3 other buds researched the area and decided to give it a go this year. We spent a week backpacking through this photographer’s dreamscape during peak fall season, and we could not have timed it better. The colors of the Tundra are truly incredible, just walking on it was like stepping on soft sponges a foot thick. Tombstone Territorial Park is part of the Ogilvie Mountains in Northern Yukon. We were just a couple hundred miles south of the Arctic Circle during the time the region begins its transition from fall into winter, which can make for crazy weather and great images. Mt Tombstone on the left stands out at 5600’ or so and is just one of the fabulous peaks in the area.
