Taken on a trip to Poland in 2009 with my father. Interesting photography trip we both took our Canon SLR’s and visited a fair few sights in the sort time we were there. Really enjoyed Krakow and the salt mines but this shot was taken and the German Death Camps in Birkenau Auschwitz. This place was really eerie but strangely intriguing to photograph. Just off the coach at the main fence people had left single red roses. I already had my Sigma 30mm f1.4 on the body so I caught a few minimal DOF shots blurring the background at f1.4 putting focus on the flower.
