November 1st - All Saints' Day (Vėlinės) - The Day For Celebrating The Dead.
Since ancient times, Lithuanians believe that after death, the soul separates from the body and continues existing among the living. "Velines" is an occasion to remember the deceased by decorating their graves with flowers, plants and burning candles. This is thought to bring their spirits nearer and to form a bond between the living and the dead.
