My answer is "usually too high the space you prepared in the viewfinder of your camera." I was lucky to swing my lens fast enough to still have her in the frame. I was originally focusing at where she jumped from, and naively thinking that a meter or two would be enough to capture the jump.
Since its all snow and nothing else on the ground, you can see where the red fox jumped from in the photo, which was quite a few times her own height! And she was jumping from a pile of soft snow.
