The knock is a stone beacon built on top of one of the highest hills near Bathgate in West Lothian.
it was gifted to the local town by J.D Sutherland who was the provost of the town between 1881 and 1893.
the beacon can be seen from miles around and the hill provides a fantastic vantage point where you can see the whole of the county and the neighbouring county of Fife and towards the East you can see Edinburgh which is almost 20miles away
