The Golden Gate Bridge is iconic, but trying to find interesting compositions is difficult. Every time I photograph it, I try and do something I haven't done before. This is one of the most successful of those attempts. The clouds had all but obscured the roadway of the bridge. I drove up to the top of the Marin Headlands, to a point where I was almost eye level with the top of the bridge, and took this shot. I love how bridge breaches the clouds, and how the large amount of space over it shows that while the bridge is massive, it's still quite small in the grand scheme of things.
