My hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has numerous bridges that cross into New Jersey. The Ben Franklin Bridge is almost like the polar opposite of the Golden Gate Bridge found in San Francisco. Blue instead of red, short instead of tall, and relatively narrow in comparison, the Ben Franklin is an icon of Philadelphia. While I was visiting some friends in the Philadelphia area, we decided to walk across the bridge, something I had never done in my 21 years living in Philadelphia. I'm glad that we did. I noticed how the pedestrian walkway of the bridge pulls your eye into the frame, while the clouds paint the sky with a gentle texture that contrasts nicely with the cold steel of the bridge
