Growing up in Philadelphia, summer thunderstorms would bring amazing cloud formations almost every day. It wasn't until I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, which almost never has thunderstorms and usually has a blue featureless sky, did I realize just how much I had taken those summer afternoon clouds for granted. On a trip to Washington DC one spring day, I noticed just how spectacular the sky was. While everyone else with a camera was photographing the White House and the Washington Memorial, I was shooting the sky. Sometimes, we must look up.
