I have put my processing of new images on a temporary hold as I figure out some problems I'm having with my own processing. I'm at that stage in my own personal satisfaction with my photography that I basically hate all of my work, save for a few images. I've re-processed this recently, as the original was absolutely horrendous. I don't even know what I was thinking. There's a lot of my old images that I feel the same about. But this, I like. Very happy with it.
This area is known as the Eureka Dunes and is in a remote northern tip of Death Valley National Park. Went here twice in my last visit to the area, this particular time we had some good winds blowing the sands around off the tips of the sand dunes, which lends to the subtle glow at the tips of the hills. Shot just after the sunset light.
