Bruges is an amazing Belgium city. Walking through the streets you will find many wonders—the historic center, the Burg, Town Hall, the Market Halls—however, a visit to the city isn’t complete without a boat trip on its canals. The half-hour trip allows the visitor to appreciate Bruges from a completely different angle. This photograph was taken on one of the five landing stages of the boat trip.
The canals are so amazing that sometimes the city is called the ‘The Venice of the North’, even though the cities are built very differently. Venice was founded on islands in a lagoon of the Adriatic while Bruges lies deeper inland.
I didn’t have time for a boat trip on this visit, but I want to revisit the city and continue exploring all its wonders with my camera.
