This black and white photograph was taken at South Point Park, Hawaii - the southernmost point of the United States. This particular wave crashes against the exceptionally powerful crosswinds common to the southern point of the Big Island. With shifting tides and winds ranging from 25-65 mph or more the crashing energies creates massive explosions of water and never-ending mists that are about as surreal as anything I've ever seen. I could have sat and watched the waves for days- the whole park absolutely magnificent!
