When I came up with the idea of The Project I had one goal in mind - to master the art of capturing expression in my portraits. I believe that a when the viewer feels connected to the subject, the photo is a great one.

Over the past 2 weeks, I toured Mexico with my wife and visited her family. The second I met my wife's little cousin I knew I wanted to take one killer shot of her. She's tiny, cute and has attitude. Every time I looked at her she would run away. It took me a week of playing freeze tag, giving her airplane rides and tickling her until she felt comfortable with me. Keep in mind I don't speak Spanish so communicating was hard. But after taking headshots of photographers for the past few months I think I got the hang of what to do to make her feel comfortable.
