I had wanted to shoot the Kinder Downfall for absolutely ages and in that time I had seen some fantastic shots from a few fellow photographers but knew ultimately I wanted to get a shot I had yet to see.

The Downfall often flows upwards when there is a south westerly wind and there has been a fair bit of rain. I had seen many shots of this before but none from within the downfall itself while it was blowing upwards.

So last Sunday I checked the forecast, I knew it was windy and the wind was blowing in the right direction so I set my targets on it.

On the way up there was some glorious light, but a big bank of cloud came in on my arrival and I thought it'd be a 7 mile walk for nothing.

Thank god for the winds though, it soon blown the cloud over and treated me to some gorgeous light.

I was stood in the thick of it, trying to keep the water off my filters (I got through most of my filters) and only a few shots were taken without any water droplets on the filter.

It was well worth it though and I truly think I've got something different and it's good to be able to do what you set out to do.

The walk back wasn't much fun though, with the same winds that worked in my favour earlier blowing directly into my face and my wet trousers.
