The town of Washington in eastern North Carolina is one of the more historical locations in NC. Since moving to this area, I have been drawn to this small community for it’s history and abundance of HDR photographic opportunities. St Peter’s Episcopal Church was established in 1822. This current Gothic Revival brick church building was started in 1867 and completed in 1873.
The church cemetery is another beautiful tribute to the history of this community and is full of fantastic photo opportunities. These shots reveal this history in a more tangible way. Many of the graves show the hardship of life at that time in our nations history as you can see by the engravings on the tombstones.
