I have always wanted to capture a cheetah image like this. I had seen many - but most of them were "set up" shots at rehabilitation centres. I had seen very few running cheetah images taken in the wild that were in good light and of good quality. On our recent trip to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park we followed a female cheetah and her 3 large cubs up the dry (but now very green after the rains) Auob river. They were walking quietly for quite a while when suddenly the rearmost cub burst out at speed and rushed towards its siblings. What followed was a quick 20 seconds of playful interaction, most of which I biffed because they came too close to my 500mm lens and 1.4x converter that was fitted. I am very happy with this frame, though!
