I don't usually take pictures during the day - I'm usually a sunrise/sunset person who likes to capture the first/last light of the day. However, with atmospheric light like this it's difficult to resist getting the camera out of the bag. It was a very blustery day with virtually gale force winds, so this is a handheld shot looking across Bassenthwaite Lake from the slopes of Dodd near the summit. The lake water level is very high at the moment due to the severe storms battering the UK, but Cumbria has come off relatively unscathed compared to other regions of the country.
