I woke up bright and early this morning and headed to Chatfield State Park here in Colorado in hopes of finding some good light to work with for landscapes along with finding some birds to photograph. Last week when I went I didn't see a whole lot, some Meadowlarks had returned but still sparse. Thinking I was on the cusp, I decided to head back there today. To my surprise the place was infested with female Estern Kingbirds who were returning ahead of their male counterparts, more Meadowlarks and a few Yellow-headed Blackbirds thrown into the mix. I was all about it! This guy was really loud, so loud my dog was about to throw his blanket over him lol Ear piercing as he sang his little heart out.
