I made this photograph in 2009. When I first posted a selection from my portfolio to 500px I didn't know things like why it might not be the best idea to upload 30+ images in one day, and stuff like that. I would like to share it at this time, because I have been working in the California deserts for a month now in the midst of the driest winter in recorded history and the lushness of this scene is especially appealing to me. While I am still awaiting a year filled with many other adventures to new places, this will have to do. I think many of us are awaiting spring right now!
This was taken on Eagle Creek, in Oregon. It reinforced for me, how in the most photographed of places, unique images can come from anywhere when we are open to the possibilities. It has always been a favorite small scene of mine, and I hope it resonates with you too. This comes from a single exposure with some low-key processing in natural light.
