Pirates Cove, Arran, Scotland

Close to the tiny west coast town of Corrie on Arran are a couple of quiet insignificant looking beaches with the most vividly coloured finned bedrock I have ever laid eyes on. The rock is extremely ancient and at some time in its distant past some large erratic boulders have spilled onto the beach and rest there like saffron sprinkled marbles. I made an early dawn trip to this location with my young son Ben and he helped me take a number of shots in this fine little bay.
