Earlier in the day we had already come across this group of Kereyu with hundreds of camels at the hot springs at Lake Shalla in Ethiopia. We could not stop for pictures as they became hostile when they saw the camera. I returned in the late afternoon with only our scout and driver for the sunset over the lake. As we were too early I wanted to see if the Kereyu with their camels were still there. We shook hands but I had to leave my camera in the car. One of them had a mobile phone with a camera so he started taking pictures of me and they had some great laughs. Our scout started posing and I could take my camera out to take his picture and showed it to the Kereyu. After a few minutes the atmosphere became relaxed and they started posing for pictures and had a great time looking at the result. It is surprising how fast things can change. The Kereyu had walked 220km to have their camels drink at the hot springs. They do this 2-3 times per year and only stay for 1-2 nights so I was very lucky to be able to get this series of pictures.
