Ghosties Beach, Munmorah State Conservation Area, Central Coast, NSW, Australia
A reworking of an older photo of mine. Some of you may have seen a similar shot taken on the same day called "Australian Sea Cave" in my 500px collection.
This shows a bit more of the sky above the rain clouds but less of the cave walls - a limitation of the lens I used at the time. I think I've been able to improve on the detail here with a bit more photo processing experience under my belt and some updated software. Any feedback, especially comparing the two versions, would be greatly appreciated. Apart from the composition, the colours are quite different between the different versions. I think this one is closer to what I recall of the colours on the day. I'm interested in what others feel about the colours as the light when shooting in the middle of the day doesn't lend itself to dramatic colours as sunset/sunrise obviously does. I still tend to think of days like this with wonderful blue skies as a beautiful day when I'm living it. In terms of photography it seems hard to represent days like this accurately and shooting outside of certain hours is generally not recommended. Perhaps it's just too difficult to do a "beautiful day" justice in a photo and sunsets/sunrises are much easier.
