When I took this picture I was just getting started in high speed photography. I was trying to duplicate the famous Harold Edgerton photo of a playing card split by a bullet and got the silly idea of using a razor blade in place of the card.

I was not sure how dangerous it was, so this picture was taken with me hiding below the level of my workbench.

Strangely enough this was the first try.

And even more strangely, it went viral a few months after I posted it on Flickr, which started my whole high speed photography trip.
