On a recent trip to Santorini, Greece, my wife and I decided to rent a car and explore the island a bit. Our hotel recommended we check out the new Wine Museum. We had a map, and there were signs everywhere pointing to the Wine Museum, but for some reason we couldn't find it. While we were searching for the Wine Museum we kept passing this place that had signs out front that said "Winery", "Museum", "Art Space". We decided to stop and see if this was in fact the Wine Museum. It turns out this wasn't the Wine Museum we were searching for it was actually a privately owned vineyard with it's own museum. In addition, a portion of the underground caves where they used to make and cellar the wine had been converted in to modern Art Space. It was pretty amazing. The owner (and his cat) graciously gave us a private tour of the property. Each time we entered a new room the cat made sure to be the center of attention. Here he is checking out some of the art.
If you're ever in Santorini I would recommend a visit to Art Space. You can tour the property, tour the underground caves where the wine is manufactured and stored, check out the Art Space, and even do a wine tasting. Here's a link to their website:
