Late afternoon, early November Y2K. I precariously perched on the brink of a sheer precipice waiting for the right lighting on Delicate Arch (500px.com/photo/1294566
) while a distant thunderstorm raged along the eastern boundary of Arches NP. The arch was stubbornly in shade and crowded with people, when I suddenly became aware of a beautiful light flooding the expansive vista to my right. I quickly reset my tripod and shot a few Velvia frames before returning to the originally intended subject, afraid to miss the magic moment. I've always been quite fond of this "stolen" image of a seldom photographed scene.
