Our nesting Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata)pair are now feeding their chicks, which have recently hatched. The nest is high up in a gap in the stable brick wall so I don't yet know how many chicks there are. As soon as they grow bigger it will be easier to see.
The parents are perfect subjects for photography, as they sit motionless, scanning for bugs, then, like lightning, fly a quick circle, catching a bug with a resounding click and then returning to the perch until their beak is full! They are totally unworried by human presence and I don't even need to use the chair hide!
Taken 10.1m from subject, tripod.
