The title stems from the history of Old Man's Cave. Old Man's Cave is part of the Hocking Hills State Park system. I think it is safe to say that Old Man's Cave is the most heavily traveled natural area in all of Ohio. Thousands may visit in one day. There are three parking lots for this place.
Anyway, around 1796, a hermit named Richard Rowe moved to Ohio, and then made this gorge his home. He lived there until his death.
