I was out this evening photographing the Whitethroats again and as i took 5 mins to rest the arms and sat upon a rock i looked round and saw a Fox looking straight at me from behind some long grass! I thought it was going to be one of those fleeting moments and as i pressed the shutter to get just something on camera it vanished into the green... Ach, typical! I was about to get up when i spotted it again ,this time only about 20m or so away,i froze ,still quite hidden from view but now my heart was pumping i had this Fox intently looking in my direction?! Do i just go for it and grab what i can or do i sit tight? I gave it about 30 seconds before putting my eye to the viewfinder,as i did the Fox sat down!! I slowly fired off a couple of frames , then a few more as this Cracker sat and posed perfectly for me . I was able to get some nice shots and the grassy meadow was just the perfect setting for this awesome encounter.I am actually pretty happy with this image ( which is rare for me) but the encounter means more. After coming across several dead Foxes recently ,one of which had its tail hacked off it was lovely to see one alive and looking well! I hope we meet again.
