Tribute #3 - Brassaï - Paris (night)

"Every man has two countries - his own and France"

-Henri de Bornier

Tribute #3
Brassaï is one of my favourite photgraphers. His photos were some of the first to sum the idea of documentation and art. some before them had already used this concept. but they had no technology at hand for, e.g., photographing people and cultural environments at nigth. His series of night captures of the between wars paris was revolutinary. both aesthetically and technically. the product of his walks around the mid 20's city after dark can be seen at 'Paris de Nuit'. this book has, actually, one of the rarest first editions to be found today. its price goes sky high.
Brassaï captures the spirit of the city in its golden age. have you ever seen midnight in paris - woody allen? well, he did. But live.

This photo is a repost. I took it already thinking of using as a tribute. but, by the time I posted it here, there were only a few visitors in my page. and I said 'well, he deserves better. I will repost it when it is time'.
now is the time, I guess :)
tribute #4 is about someone who came before Brasaï. coming tomorrow
