White House Ruins at Canyon de Chelly, AZ. Made famous by Ansel Adams, they still have the power to captivate. The White House itself is just peeking out in the center of the ruin. It is covered with a white plaster mud which gives its color and provides its name. Unfortunately, the surroundings, just out of frame include a wire fence to keep tourists from vandalizing, even inadvertently, the ruins. It's sad. Didn't our mothers teach us to look but don't touch?
