I found this poor bee, which seemed both exhausted and drenched, the hair plastered flat on its body, at the Norfolk Botanical Garden in Norfolk, Virginia one morning recently. I was able to take several photos since it wasn't moving, then it fell over backwards onto the ground, where it lay wiggling its legs in the air. It was so hot I was dripping sweat onto my camera body and had to keep wiping it off. Maybe the bee was overheated, too?
