This is the second year I've gone to the Calgary Stampede with camera and tripod to photograph the midway at night. Once again, I wasn't disappointed.
It's amazing what a long exposure can accomplish; this ferris wheel never moves fast (with only one spot to let on/off riders, it has to stop frequently), yet a long exposure makes the wheel appear to be spinning like a top. I used a polarizing filter, only to slow down the exposure a bit more.
