Clicking the shutter while using film is just the first step in a long sequence of events to producing a physical object representing that moment in time. You have to develop the film, scan or proof it, select your images, setup the darkroom while deciding what paper and chemistry you want to use, run test prints, fix contrast and exposure problems, etc…. Sure, there are analogs with digital photography and many people put just as much work into digital, but the inability to hit the ‘undo’ button in analog processes means that you have to be more contentious about what you are doing. You have to accept this insecurity and permanence as part of the creative process.
