Paul Dennison began working in film photography over 20 years ago. Since that time he has moved through the various stages of photography toward professional. Beginning with a mild interest and 35 mm film camera, he now uses a Digital SLR to do his work. Photography has become a business and profession for Paul.
He recently began working with a technique called Single Light Photography and is improving daily as he works with various lighting methods in portraiture. His eventual goal is to work in his own studio and teach photography to others who, like him, began with a mild interest. He loves teaching others and makes it his primary mission with each photographic encounter to share those methods and techniques he has learned.
Paul has won several awards with his photography. In 2010 he was awarded Photo of the Year by the Ogden Camera Club, as well as placing first in several of their monthly competitions. His photography has been published in PhotographyBB’s Online Magazine.
In 2009 and 2011, Paul was a finalist in the Eccles Community Art Center’s Statewide Photography Competition for Utah. According to Paul, the best of awards he receives are those he gets daily from those who see the photographs he has made of them.
He is an active member of the Ogden Camera Club, where he is an occasional competition judge, and Photowalking Utah. He is a founding member of Friday Night Fotogs, a photography club that meets weekly, where he teaches night photography and light painting to its members.
Born and raised in Ogden, Utah, Paul is the father of two children who are actively involved with him in photography. He enjoys being outdoors and loves water; streams, lakes, and oceans. Over the course of his photography career he has photographed landscapes, nature, and wildlife.
Paul has also worked with many models of the Bonneville Bombers.
