Following Team Romania for Eurobasket 2013 qual...

Published August 19th, 2012

For the beginning I have to say I'm a basketball fiend. A New York Knicks loyalist for over 15 years with the orange and blue running through my veins it's not tough to say hoops is my sport. Being also a sports photographer it is only natural that my favorite action to shoot is basketball. I shoot our first league team here in Romania (BC Mures) for the past 4 years and it became very addictive. I basically can't even go to a game if i'm not courtside with my camera (if possible with the strobes mounted in the top corners as well), ready for the tip-off.

Our national team has struggled this whole decade and is nowhere near being a decent force in Europe. However we have a young squad trying to go against all odds and try the impossible - qualify for Eurobasket 2013 in Slovenia. Our group is tough as hell, opponents such as Bosnia or Georgia leaves the rest of the teams (Holland and Latvia) with short hopes.

Last Wednesday in Sibiu, Romania opened the group hosting Holland and took ...

Romanian League football

Published March 23rd, 2012

I shot last night the game between our FCM Tirgu Mures and FC Steaua Bucharest (probably the most well-known Romanian club team). While FCM tries to avoid relegation to the second league and desperately needs any point can get, Steaua is trying hard to win their 24th title. However, the surprising success of our boys knocked their chances off and while this was a huge win, it's also the first win against the most loved/hated team in Romania.

Anyway, even though spring has FINALLY stepped in officially, the temperature on the grass was a real pain. I knew a nocturnal game starting at 10pm is not going to be like a walk on a sunny beach in Benidorm and i had two sweaters on plus a leather jacket, but still, having to stay put for 90 minutes in that weather, feeling the cold going through every bone was a killer. I shot many games but this is was first time i got caught off-side.

Some of the shots i took are already up on my profile, check them out!

Lord of the Dance, in Romania

Published November 12th, 2011

Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance tour finally arrived in Romania. Since i wasn't aware of what this is really all about (i can be a very ignorant person sometimes, but i'm a fast learner) i asked for a credential on the last call because there was nothing much for me to do on Thursday night and some of my friends told me that the show is highly appreciated worldwide so it's a must see. I was truly impressed by the avalanche of people that paid lots of money to purchase a ticket for this event, our +2,000 seats arena having a sellout.

The show was really stunning. I was on the front row to cover the first 10 minutes that i was allowed to shoot so i wasn't able pay much attention to the epic line, being more concerned with getting a few good shots but after my time was up and went back to find myself a seat i began to follow the story line and then the whole thing started to make sense. If the tour is ever in your area i recommend you go see it. It is worth the price ad you won't feel ...

Hello 500px

Hello people, glad to be hear! First of all a very quick background on me: My name is Radu Rosca and i love shooting sports. As you will see, most of my photos that will be added here will be sports related. However, i do like other genres of photography and i am not limited to a single one, but in a perfect world i'd be shooting basketball full time. I do love basketball and basketball photography, it came just natural for me since i'm a big fan of the NBA and the mighty New York Knicks (bear with me and i'll be adding my favorite shots here).

Most of my work cand be found on my official blog -
