Ramunas K Fishermang
Mountains of Madness and the Endless Sea. Northern Darkness and the Ritual that occurs silently, relentlessly and without compromise on Nature's own terms. I am but a mere observer always awaiting.
I have an endless passion for photography for many different reasons. I think conveying an atmosphere or mood I want to express more or less sums it up. I am constantly inspired by different things, some of them entirely unexpected, but the constants over the years have been related to weather, which I have been very occupied by since I was a tiny dude. All sorts of weather. Ever chased a sand or snow devil and tried to jump into the middle and see what happens?
I bring a lot of influence from dark music ranging from calm soundscapes to harsher and darker tones across many genres. I also gather a lot of inspiration from tv-series, movies and certain books. A constant endless inspiration has been Lovecraft. When starting out I was very inspired a lot by Richard Van Hoesel's seascape photography. Nowadays I draw inspiration both from illustrations and photography that shows natural scenes and atmosphere and among those who inspire me most is Daniel Kordan, Ted Gore, Stian N.
Photography wise I have been doing this since 2003 when I for some reason picked up a tiny digital camera and shot a double rainbow in our garden. I then spent several years shooting nature, cats and landscapes, but gave up when I realized that I didn't have the knowledge of post-processing to really convey the mood I wanted to. For that reason I almost gave up photography in 2009 and picked it up again in autumn 2016 when I accidently found one of Ted Gore's processing videos. Haven't looked back ever since.
