Welcome to my Photography page.
I am a Mid-level Pro photographer, for me to come to this point of my career as a photographer, I've had to spend countless hours applying my skill, each time trying something new, taking upon new challenges and setting new goals.
Everything started back in High school, when I chose to take basic photography courses, from there I started taking pictures of everything with a FUJI camera. Eventually, I had the chance to buy a Canon camera and started taking pictures at night clubs, this was such a challenging experience for me as I was confronted to get out of my reserved personality and actually interact with hundreds of individuals that wanted their picture taken, Hey! It was my first night, so the pressure was crazy, because I had to get the pictures perfect, I was still getting to know the camera, the settings, the club, the crowd.. I went back to the club a few times after that. There was a point on which I would feel an unique rush of adrenaline that would turn me into a social bee, I felt powerful because my camera made me confident, each picture that I would take, I was getting 10x better, it was crazy to me, how I had been able to become comfortable with any light setting inside the club, in a matter of 4 nights of shooting.
As time went on I started getting hired for clubs all over Toronto, there were weekends on which I would shoot at over 6 clubs, this making things 100x more challenging, because I had to be ready to take the perfect picture with the perfect settings at any moment. All of this effort lead to me being Nominated as one of Toronto's best Night Club Photographers.
After my 2nd year of shooting at almost every club in the City, I had the chance to start shooting at The Guvernment Night Club, this was my goal and dream as a club photographer, to shoot at Toronto's classic and biggest club. The first night there as a photographer for the club, I remember feeling on the top of a mountain, where I could get hundreds of fantastic images, where I had gotten to the point on which the main djs, Mark oliver, manzone & strong; would call upon me, so I would take pictures of them inside the booth. I love it, the music, the lights, the crowd. I feel like all of those hundreds of nights before, had lead me to this moment of perfection. On the following months, I had the chance to take pictures of very unique djs/performers at the guvernment, some of them being deadmau5, axwell, steve angelo, alvin risk, sander van doorn, an21 & many more. After a little over 8 months of shooting at the guvernment, I decided to take a break from Night Club Photography.
I took this opportunity to take my photographic skills to portrait & fashion photography, the experience, knowledge and connections that I had achieved with my club photography, made me an expert at this new side of photography. But after over 1 year, I decided to also take a break from this style of photography, maybe because I didn't like having to follow a guideline list of the pictures that I had to take, I didn't like feeling like I had lost my creative freedom.
Near the end of the year of 2013 I decided to taking things to an entire new level. I decided to leave everything and everyone behind, so that I could move to Las Vegas, USA. Las Vegas is the paradise of clubs, where only the best of the best work. Working in Vegas is a massive challenge, because they are willing to pay the right money in order to get the best of everything. For these very reasons, Vegas was the perfect challenge for me.
My very first night as a Pro Club photographer in Las Vegas, took place at 1OAK inside (The Mirage), as I was walking in, I could feel the energy, hear the music, see the lights, suddenly that rush came back to me. That Powerful feeling of accomplishment took over me, right away, I could tell the difference, everything had been taking to the next level, that very same night, I had been given full access, which allowed me to take pictures of every single there that night, 50 Cent, chumlee, lil john. This was it, I was in Vegas taking pictures of celebrities, models, millionaires, casino owners, poker stars. As my weeks went by in vegas, I would end-up taking pictures at 4 venues weekly, The bank ( Bellagio), Hyde ( Bellagio ), 1oak( The Mirage) & Haze. Every night of work was crazy, in a very positive way, the amount of connections, access, money involved was impressive. At one point I was called to be the private photographer for Nick Cannon while performing at the Mirage, all of these challenges and experience, made me a much better photographer, one that I could never have become if I would have simply stayed in Toronto, I needed this 5 intensive Las Vegas challenge, to make me 100x better than I already was. I've had the honor to explore both industries, in two different countries. I have been very privileged to work with fantastic people in the industry all over north america.
Now, I am back in Toronto once again, But this time. I take concert/special events pictures, I am called for few, but specific concerts, some of them being Jorge Celedon's recent sold out concert & the MMVA 2014, where I had the chance to take pictures of Lauren Toyota, Hedley, Magic & many more.
I know this has been a long introduction to what my photography is all about, but I hope that this helps you get an idea of my experience, knowledge, and vision.
