The DC-3 is one of the most sucessfull airplanes in commercial aviation history. It was the commercial version of the military C-47, built by the Douglas Aircraft Company.
First Operator: American Airlines (1936). In March 1951, it was bought by VASP and received the registration PP-SQH. In the mid-50's was sold to National Air Transport, gaining registration PP-ANU. Then it was acquired by REAL, which was later absorbed by VARIG. At that time, it had 52,308 hours of flight, being considered the Brazilian most flown DC-3, until its deactivation in 1969. It belonged to the VARIG museum. After being acquired by GOL, the plane is now abandoned in a field of a crane company.
