Richard Hunter is a keen amateur photographer who grew up on the west coast of Scotland.
At present he works in the North Sea offshore oil industry leading inspection teams checking the integrity and safety of the oil platforms and structures.
Richard has always been drawn to the arts keen on drawing and oil painting when in his teens. A love for photography developed a after being given a very old Praktica camera and light meter by his Uncle.
Richard worked for many years in the forestry industry in Argyllshire on the west coast of Scotland where he developed a love for being outside in all weathers; in particular he loved the frequent the wet and misty days which helped to create monochrome moody and minimalist landscapes. These impressions and images have stayed with him ever since and are now what he seeks to reproduce in his images. Richard loves minimalist compositions and uses ND filters quite often to enhance this feeling so whenever the mist and rain descend Richard grabs his camera bag and heads out.
