I am a UK based wildlife photographer, spending as much time in the great outdoors as I can, be it local areas or further afield exploring other parts of the world. I'm humbled that my passion and time sitting behind the viewfinder has seen me awarded in competitions including the highly prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year and British Wildlife Photography Awards. You can see more of my work, and read my comprehensive blog at richardpeters.co.uk and also keep up to date with what I'm doing via Twitter and Facebook.

One of the images I\'ve taken of my D4, to illustrate my initial review and D3s comparisons.

<br/>The review talks about the ergonomics, controls, speed and various other bits. It also includes a couple of ISO 12800 RAW files for download and look at, as well as a little video giving you a look inside the D4 viewfinder.

Nikon D4 v D3s: Initial review and comparisons

Published April 14th, 2012

I’ve not had the D4 long but thought I’d share a few initial thoughts and comparisons between it and the D3s that have stood out for me so far, talking about the ergonomics, a couple of viewfinder changes, a quick high ISO test against the D3s (with RAW file downloads) and more. I'm thoroughly enjoying the latest camera out the Nikon stable, and will be talking about it more in due course as I spend more time using it.

Yellowstone Winter Wildlife, Part 1

Published November 15th, 2011

Part 1 of my winter wildlife trip to Yellowstone back at the start of the year. I've only just got round to completing this as I didn't have time when I got back from the trip, so figured I'd wait for the cold weather again before posting. It's a three part blog, covering my nine and half days in the park in some of the heaviest snowfall for the last seven years!

Nikon D7000 review

Published July 18th, 2011

I've just reviewed the Nikon D7000, which I've had on loan from Nikon for the last 6 months. I've used it as a backup to my D3s everywhere from Yellowstone in the winter, to the Farne Islands. But how has it performed?

The Farne Islands, in search of Puffins

Published July 4th, 2011

Stepping on to Staple Island for the first time is an experience like no other. It’s a busy place and everywhere you look there are birds, on the ground, in the sky and on the water surrounding you. And that’s not to mention the hundreds of photographers camera’s clicking away simultaneously at all these subjects, providing a chorus of natural and man made noises that creates a real assault on the senses. And the star of this show, without a shadow of a doubt, are the puffins!
