Bend of the river Po, Gaiba (Ro), Church of St. Charles Borromeo-2013.12.02
My wife Pia and I, we are fortunate to work at home, and then often in the winter, we take advantage of the lunch break to go out to do some shots when the Sun gives us a good light and warmth for a walk.
Today we went for a walk at a bend of the river Po, on the north shore, in the province of Rovigo near a small village called Gaiba. In the floodplain there are cultivated fields and a small abandoned village with a church dating back to the 17th century.
The passing of the years and abandonment have not taken off those walls the strength that people have had in their construction, and experiencing them. It was still possible to imagine the heat of life warm up the walls and the dignity of peasant workers undo the signs of neglect.
With our humble visit, with these words, with these shots we have once again given way to the lives of those who built and lived in these houses.
