Hot Days at the Warhawk Museum

Published July 9th, 2013

Life marches ever on and a very big day draws closer. Andie and I are checking off to-dos left and right preparing for our little P.I.P. With each item completed I feel a little bit better but also a little bit more anxious knowing that I’m one step closer to a life changing event. It’s shocking to realize that Andie and I are roughly five weeks away from having a baby but as my mother says, full of wisdom, “The only way out is through.”

In the meantime I have found some time to create some new images. Most recently I went to a local airshow at the Warhawk Museum in Nampa. I went last year and had a great time. This year certainly didn’t disappoint. I parked myself at the end of the runway to watch and capture the P47, P40’s, and P51’s landing. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the sound of three P51s pass directly overhead. It sent a huge shiver down my spine. I’m already looking forward to the next event.

As for future plans, I hope to post some nursery photos soon. We fin ...

The Nampa Twilight Criterium 2013

Published June 17th, 2013

What an event! The Nampa Twilight Criterium was this last Saturday night and if you missed it you missed out on a great race - not to mention that it was the perfect night for such an event. It was a thrill to watch and even better to photograph.

To those of you who raced in the event, if you see an image you like email me at ryancronrath@gmail.com and I'll send you a copy.

I hope Nampa keeps this event coming back every year. Loved it!!!

Baby Belly!!!

Published June 9th, 2013

I know so many of you have been patiently waiting for baby bump pictures. I'm a little late on that front. It's probably safe to say that we're way past the baby bump phase now and on to the full-on baby belly phase. While the sticky note says ten weeks till delivery we're actually closer to nine weeks. Freak Out!!! Slowly - and I mean slowly - things are starting to come together, which has been a nice change of pace from the utter chaos that has inhabited my day to day life for the last several weeks/months.

Like any first time expecting parent I have my good days and my bad days, made up from my good and bad moments. I'm mostly focusing on getting one foot in front of the other at this point. I'm really excited to meet P.I.P! Oddly, I feel like I'm getting a better understanding of who I am by preparing for P.I.P. I find myself revisiting many things from my past, like music, books, movies, etc. It's like rediscovering myself all over again, which makes me even more excit ...

Quick Update

Published June 3rd, 2013

Things have been pretty much the same lately. I've been insanely busy but the erge to get out and create some new images has been building. I didn't have much time this weekend but I grabbed my camera anyways and I'm glad I did. There's a lot of beauty to be seen if you simply stop and take a look. Do yourself a favor...stop...and take a look around. You'll be glad you did.

Sawtooth Vineyards

It was a wonderful night for a drive. Warm, but not too warm. Breezy but no too breezy. And the landscape...well...awe inspiring as usual. Enjoy!

McCall and Roseberry Idaho

Published June 3rd, 2013

I should be posting more and believe me when I say I would like to be posting more. The good news is that I have been taking more photos. I hit a lull these last few months but I haven't been too concerned. The creative process is nothing new to me. I knew I'd hit my stride again and bit by bit it's returning.

I recently discovered a new processing technique in Lightroom and I couldn't be happier with the results. It never ceases to amaze me how complex Lightroom is. Two years later and I'm still learning and discovering things I didn't even know existed in Lightroom. It's so deceivingly simple.

Andie and I took a 'Babymoon' to McCall, Idaho recently. Neither of us are particularly outdoorsy, so McCall might seem like an odd choice, but we like it. We typically head to McCall during the off season which means its quiet. Aside from a little rain the weather was tolerable. I didn't take a lot of time to take some photos but I did find myself out towards Roseberry and I cou ...

Wilson Ponds

Published June 3rd, 2013

It felt so wonderful to get out and about with my camera in hand again. I feel refreshed and genuinely excited to start searching for new locations and creating some new, great images. I felt a little rusty when I got setup at Wilson Ponds this last week but it didn't take long to get back into the swing of things. I'm really looking forward to a trip to Jump Creek soon. I'm definitely going to have to get in shape for that trek but I'm totally stoked to do some long exposure shots in one of my very favorite locations.
