Retired Naval Aviator. Saw the world, did some things, then came home.
I graduated from Mannington HS in 1974, West Virginia University in 1979. Went to work for Aeromech Airlines for a couple years then joined the Navy in '83 to become a Naval Aviator.
I was commissioned as an ensign in the USN in 1983 and proceeded to flight school. Until 1994 I served as a Naval Aviator. I flew four different types of aircraft while in the Navy, but most of my hours are in the H-3 Sea King helicopter. I lived in many different places: Pensacola,FL; Milton, FL; Jacksonville, FL; Key West, FL; Norfolk, VA; Naples, Italy; Manama, Bahrain; and Patuxent River, MD as well as many ships in the fleet. I loved the Navy. Left as a result of the downsizing policy shorty after the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm.) They made me an $ offer I couldn't refuse. Current status: Retired.
I Worked in Pittsburgh for a few years for an old friend at his bearing manufacturing plant as the general manager. Then headed back to Mannington when Dad started to get sick in '98(heart attack, several strokes, dimentia, and eventually kidney failure.)
I went back to WVU to get a Computer Science masters degree on the GI bill, but after a year went to work for the Dept of Commerce as a Computer Tech guy. Was promoted to the 2000 Census area manager for 18 counties in West Virginia..
Dad got worse and I started taking care of him full time. He passed away Dec 2000. Then Mom started having health problems so I am taking care of her full time. Looking for some meaningful endeavor part-time and still interested in having a good time as often as possible.
That's it friends.
Hope to see you soon,
